The Comptroller-General of the Department
of Overseas Trade presents his compliments to the Under Secretary of State for Colonial Affaire and begs to state that an enquiry has been received from Mesere. John Patt & Co. Ltd. (London) Ltd., in regard to the possibility of firms of German nationality returning to Hongkong.
The firm state that resumption of such busineeBag would affect their trade and are anxious to
ascertain whether the Hongkong legislation permita auch return, or is likely to do so in the near
future.
The Comptroller-General would be obliged if he could be furnished with information on
these points.
